We know the involuntary contractions in the diaphragm muscles as hiccups. The diaphragm muscles separate the chest and the stomach and helps is proper breathing. When there is irritation in the nerves of the diaphragm, the diaphragm makes the breath move in strange way that makes the noise, which we call as hiccups.

There are various reasons due to which the hiccups occur.

  1. Eating hot and spicy food.
  2. Eating too fast.
  3. Stuffing your mouth with too much food.
