People with psoriasis can be easily recognized, as they have red patches of thickened skin with silver scales over their body. Mostly elbows, knees, trunk and scalp are the places where these patches arise. These patches not only look ugly but they are itchy and painful too. Even genital areas and underarms get affected due to psoriasis.

Medications for psoriasis are there but these medicines give temporary cure from itching and scaling. There are creams, which after applying on the affected area, gives you relief from the itching and scaling for few days. In short till now there is no permanent solution.

There are many home remedies for psoriasis that will give you relief from the itching and scaling of the skin.

• Applying seawater over the affected areas will be highly beneficial. If possible have seawater baths. Soon you will find the difference and your patches will be less painful.
• Taking hot Epsom salts bath is also very effective home remedies for psoriasis and it gives better results within short duration.
• Applying mudpacks over the affected region will help in removing the toxins from the affected regions.
• Make fresh juice of bitter gourd and add a teaspoon of limejuice to it. Have this on empty stomach for about six months. This is one of the mostly used home remedies for psoriasis .
• One very good natural remedy is to sit in sunlight especially the early morning sunrays are good for the skin.
• Daily intake of 200 to 800 I.U of Vitamin E will also help to relive the itching of the skin.
• Take about six to nine capsules of lecithin in a day. Lecithin works remarkably and helps to cure the skin from itchiness.
• Apply cabbage leaves over the affected body parts. Just take care to removes the thick veins from the cabbage leaf. Also before applying cabbage leaves, wash them with water.
• Applying garlic oil over the infected body parts will also help when you have psoriasis.
• Apply the oil of cashew nuts on the affected body parts at night. Before applying it wash the affected area thoroughly with water.
• Apply aloe Vera gel over the affected parts of the body.
• Make a lotion by adding one drop of oregano oil and 2 drops of calendula oil in a cup of olive oil. Apply this lotion over the infected body parts.
• Make a lotion out of wheat germ oil and castor oil. To make it take a cup of sunflower oil and add one teaspoon of wheat germ oil and one teaspoon of castor oil into it. Mix all these oils together. Your lotion for psoriasis is ready. Apply it over the affected body parts.
• You can also make lotion for psoriasis from marigold. For this in four cup water boil four marigold heads. Boil this for about two minutes. When it gets cool apply it over the affected regions of the body. You can safely apply it over the scalp. Massage the affected part with this lotion and then wash it.
